About Me

At about the age of 8 I can remember my father building a rubber powered plane.  I can still remember the smell of the blue dope.  Naturally it crashed so when I was invited to join a flying club when I was about 11 I was unimpressed.  "They always crash." I said but my mate Nick told me how they were controlled by wires and they did not crash.  He was wrong.  They just crashed less often.  Several years of control line crashes followed but I was hooked.

In 1989 I was bitten by the RC bug.  By this time I was older and had a  son who was interested in aeroplanes so we joined the Orange MAC and learned to fly.  He was 12 and so he learned to take off and land in about three months.  I was still learning ten years later and I still am.

The plane in my profile is my latest Kadet Senior cunningly disguised as a Japanese Zero.  It is a faux Zero or Zeraux.  Engine is a Saito 90R3 radial which is about as powerful as a Saito 45 but sounds much better.
